Ellen Feldman is a Retired Global IBM Vice President with 38 years’ of experience in business & technology consulting, strategic planning and leadership of professional services organizations. She has helped by leading major initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness (within IBM and for Fortune 500 companies). Ellen has strong skills in project management, business  development, effective operational execution, problem solving, Human Resources and team building.

Ellen believes strongly in supporting the economic development in the community and has been specifically focused on applying her skills across the Southern Tier of NY and the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania.

She has worked with not-for-profits that range in size of annual budgets from $ 12,000-to annual budgets of over $30M. Entities that range in size of no FTEs (all volunteer based organizations) to FTEs of several hundred. Her focus has been to help build both practical strategic plans and realistic implementation plans. Often her efforts are focused on supporting the entities’ financial sustainability & business development. Some of the ways she accomplished this was by the identification of new programs  the strengthening of board governance, the building of strategic ecosystems, and strengthening the focus on marketing and communications planning & execution

IBM Vice President of Business Development For Energy & Utilities, Media & Entertainment and Telecommunications Clients across the globe. This included coaching deal teams in professional services, in multi-million dollar-pursuits. It also included defining new revenue producing progams, leveraging multiple brands across IBM, one of which achieved over $500M in new revenue for IBM in a given year.

  • Certified IBM Consultant & Managing Principal Across the Northeast, US & Global levels for technology consulting, leading•teams of several hundred professionals with annual services revenue of triple digit millions
  • IBM Vice President, Business Consulting for IBM’s Own Internal Strategies & Business Unit Transformations
  • Certified SCORE Mentor, specifically focused on Strategic Planning & Operational Effectiveness for Not-For-Profit Businesses. I engage with the intent to support these organizations for the life of their business, or when my skills are no longer required, Most of my efforts have been to help these businesses; build organizational capacity, diversify their revenue streams, identify & build strategic ecosystems, strengthen Board governance, improve their client value propositions & sources of differentiation, and define a set of strategic initiative and associated execution plans to achieve a set of quantifiable business outcomes.
  • President of the Achieve Board of Directors (Broome-Chenango-Tioga Chapter of NYS ARC). I have been President of the Achieve Board of Directors (covering Broome & Tioga Counties) for the last 3 years. My plan is to continue in this role (with the Board’s and our Membership’s support) for the next 3 years, as we integrate our sister Chapter in Chenango County (an organization that is approximately 50% of our size). With this integation Achieve will serve over 2,200 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in Broome, Chenango & Tioga County, with a staff of over 500 employees, and an annual budget of $34M. As Board President, I have increased the strength and diversity of the Board of Directors. I have helped to double the size of our  community membership, doubled the profit from -our- annual signature events, and vastly gown the community participation in these events. Within Achieve, I serve on all of the committees except for our Nominating committee. These committees include Human Resources, the Exec Committee (which I Chair), Business Development, Programs & Supports, Workshop, Audit & Corporate Compliance, Budget & Planning, and Incident  Review. committees. I also serve On the Achieve Foundation Board and I am part of the associated Foundation Investment Committee – where -my focus is on increasing our endowment, and maximizing the return of the monies entrusted to for those we serve.
