Wellsboro Update – Grand Opening
Animal Care Sanctuary (ACS) is excited to be a part of your community! Many animals were lucky to find forever homes during the Grand Opening of Animal Care Sanctuary’s Wellsboro location on September 23rd.
The very first adoption was Lucky, a beautiful long-haired orange cat. The one year-old is very affectionate and just loves to snuggle, making him a perfect fit for Nicole Killingstad and her family.
Lucky and his twin brother Chance came to the East Smithfield Sanctuary last November at the age of 10 weeks. Some very kind people had noticed these lost boys on an Athens street, scooped them up, and brought them to ACS.
Nicole said that at first Lucky often cried because he missed Chance, but has now settled in, playing around the house, and sleeping in the bathtub. Also, she reports that he is very gentle with her 15 month-old little boy. (Chance was adopted one week later!)
The first adoptions on the 24th were Angel, a Lhasa Apso adopted by Lana Karchner and Vanilla the cat adopted by Leslie Osborn. Both of these adopters received a complimentary gift basket from Baskets, Bundles & Bags, a family-owned and operated Covington business that designs, creates, and delivers personalized gifts to go. The co-owners, relatives Robin & Sharon Jackson and their children, Isaiah & Makenzy, are dedicated to loving and caring for all animals. They eagerly participated in the event by selling and raffling-off animal-related baskets, bundles, and bags. They donated all proceeds to ACS.
Wellsboro ACS is planning numerous exciting opportunities, including a pet park and a low cost spay/ neuter clinic. As we go forward, we want to continue to involve the entire animal-loving community! Stop by to visit, volunteer, donate, or to find your fur-ever friend!
