ACS Announces Foster Field Trip Program – Tail Wag Tag Along

Foster Field Trips allow volunteers to take dogs out on a 2-3 hour excursion (and in some cases an overnight or for a weekend) to nearby pre-approved, dog-friendly locations. The program will soon be expanded to cats.
The two primary goals of the program are to provide enrichment to the pets housed at our Adoption Centers, and to provide additional volunteer opportunities to interested individuals. This program will also help us learn more about the rescued animals in our care, which in turn will make it possible for us to further personalize their biographies for placement into foster and adoptive homes.
Dogs that are available for adoption are the candidates for Foster Field Trips, with priority given to those that have been in the Shelter for over a week.
Registered volunteers who are 18+ years old are welcome to sign up. Volunteers must be capable of safely handling the pet they wish to take on the Field Trip.
Foster Field trip signup slots are available Tuesday to Sunday, 10 AM until 4 PM.
Fosters that have not been trained as a volunteer can complete a shortened version of the volunteer orientation, with the Foster staff.
