FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS REGARDING CBD OIL

WHAT IS CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the many chemical compounds called cannabinoids that are found in the cannabis plant. CBD does not produce any psychoactive effects.

The Animal Care Sanctuary CBD Oil is sourced from hemp, which is grown, harvested, tested, and manufactured in the United States and contains less than .03% of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). The Animal Care Sanctuary CBD Oil for Pets are whole-plant or fullspectrum extracts and are considered to be the most therapeutically effective.

DO VETERINARIANS RECOMMEND CBD OIL FOR DOGS AND CATS?
In most states, veterinarians are not allowed to prescribe or recommend a cannabis product for your pet.
HOW DO I ADMINISTER CBD OIL TO MY DOGS OR CAT?

CBD Oil can be placed directly on your pet’s tongue or directly on their food.

CAN CBD OIL CALM A DOG DOWN?
A recent Cornell University study found that once the right dosage is determined for a pet, cannabidiol can improve pain stemming from arthritis. CBD will not get your pet “high” but has shown to have various positive effects such as calming anxiety, pain relief and inflammation, and even lessening the frequency and intensity of seizures. It can even be used to help animals sleep at night.
IS CBD OIL SAFE FOR CATS?
CBD Oil is generally safe for cats. However, there can be some adverse effects to giving your cat CBD Oil, including gastrointestinal upset and some sedation, both of which can be relieved by discontinuing the use of the oil. Note: While CBD Oil is typically safe for cats & dogs, cannabis plants are not.
CAN CBD OIL CAUSE LIVER PROBLEMS IN PETS?
CBD Oil can decrease the activity of liver enzymes used to metabolize many prescription drugs, so if your dog or cat is on medication, check with your veterinarian before using CBD.
