DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Development Director

This position is located in East Smithfield, Williamsport, Wellsboro PA , Elmira, Waverly, Owego, Horseheads, Binghamton, Endwell NY and surrounding counties. Remote as needed but must live in one of these areas and be able to travel as needed.

Major Responsibilities

Program Leadership

  • Create and execute fundraising plan that aligns with strategic objectives set by the Board of Directors and increases revenue from corporate, and individual sources.
  • Act as development liaison with the Executive Director and Development Committee to ensure that organizational fundraising, marketing, and communications goals are being met.

Fund Raising

  • Manage and grow Animal Care Sanctuary’s individual and corporate donor program to create a solid base of committed donors, creating a comprehensive plan that integrates direct mail, prospect research, major donor cultivation, fundraising events, and community outreach.
  • Develop and maintain a donor cultivation plan to include stewardship of donors, as well as implementing a plan for donor retention, new donor welcome series, renewal, and regular communication with all donors and the community.
  • Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors.
  • Build and manage relationships with prospective donors and will be expected to identify, qualify, acquire, cultivate, solicit, and steward these very important donors and friends of the organization.
  • Create and manage the data needed to assess and inform fundraising efforts and targets, including designing and running reports from database to analyze data.
  • Plan, organize and manage all fundraising and special events for the organization.
  • Represent Animal Care Sanctuary to current and prospective supporters, donors, and the public.
    Gift processing of incoming funds from all sources (in kind and financial). Including producing appropriate acknowledgement in a timely fashion.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Knowledge of fundraising strategy

Documented success in meeting and exceeding fundraising goals

Extensive experience and documented success with solicitation of major gifts, corporate, foundation, and individual donor fundraising

Experience having successfully created new donor programs.

Experience coordinating and marketing special events and capital campaigns,

Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills.

Positive interpersonal skills: strong independent motivation, and ability to work as part of a team.

Highly skilled with Microsoft Excel and Power Point

Proficient in Etapestry and Network for Good software

VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Job Summary:

Come further your career while enjoying a scenic commute in the rural hillsides of the Endless Mountains and assisting one of the oldest and largest no-kill animal shelters in the nation! Animal Care Sanctuary is currently seeking a veterinary assistant to work part time in East Smithfield. This position includes primarily providing veterinary care for our shelter animals and occasionally working in our Community Clinic that provides public spay/neuter/wellness services, Applicant must possess good communication skills and be a team player.

Job Responsibilities:

Assists with intakes, exams, microchipping and vaccines on in house animals as directed the Animal Services Director.

Collect samples and perform laboratory tests including 4DX, FeLV/FIV, cytology Keep medical record documentation using Hippo Manager and Shelterluv software

Participate in daily health check rounds and communicate with shelter staff, and vet team regarding routine health care information Assist with daily meds, wound cleaning, booster vaccinations, flea/tick treatments and scheduled de-wormers.

Perform typical cleaning duties including cleaning, wrapping, and sterilizing surgical instruments. Enter in medical data of animals transported in from other shelters.

Occasionally provide evening/weekend hours as required for treatment of shelter animals.

Help With weekly, public nail trims, as well as nail trims and grooming on in house animals.

Education & Experience Requirements:

CANINE CARE TEAM MEMBER
Animal Care Sanctuary is seeking a positive individual who is committed to making an impact in the lives of animals. Caregivers are at the heart of our business and are responsible for the overall care of resident animals at ACS which includes cleaning, feeding and enrichment activities.

Job Responsibilities:

Daily cleaning of animal runs, yards, and facility
Feeding
Daily exercise of dogs outside
Observe dogs’ appearance and activity daily to monitor the animal’s physical condition and mental well being
Assist visitors and volunteers with general information when needed.
Present a professional, friendly, and helpful attitude when interacting with the public.
Show animals for visitors and provide information

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift, move, restrain, and manage animals weighing up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand, walk, crouch and bend for a majority of the workday.
Must be able to use hands and arms working above shoulder level.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience welcome but not necessary as we will train you!
High school education or equivalent.
Animal handling experience preferred.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

Veterinary Technician

Animal Care Sanctuary is currently seeking a licensed veterinary technician to work full-time in East Smithfield or part-time in Wellsboro. This position includes working in our Community Clinic that provides public spay/neuter/wellness services, as well as providing medical and surgical care to our shelter animals. Applicant must possess good communication skills and be a team player.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians during spay/neuter surgeries including surgery prep, anesthesia and
    post-op monitoring
  • Collect samples and perform laboratory tests including 4DX, FeLV/FIV, cytology
  • Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
  • Keep medical record documentation using HippoManager and Shelterluv software
  • Communicate with clients, shelter staff, and adopters regarding routine health care information

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician in the State of Pennsylvania

ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN

Associate Veterinarian

Job Description:

Animal Care Sanctuary is seeking a full-time veterinarian that is responsible for providing medical and surgical care of our shelter and community pet companions. This position involves duties at both our East Smithfield and Wellsboro locations. Applicant must possess good communication skills and
be a team player.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform spays, neuters, and wellness exams of public and shelter pets
