EXPERIENCED DOG AND CAT GROOMER
This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated Groomer to capitalize on our established clientele and really build a business. Excellent animal handling and client service skills are required, along with strong knowledge in the grooming techniques of all breeds of dogs and cats
Part Time to begin but potential to grow into Full- Time
- Experienced pet stylist
- Utilize grooming instruments such as shears, clippers, dryers, nail clippers, etc.
- Perform grooming services per client’s instructions
- HIGH standard of cleanliness
- Bathing and clipping dog’s dependent on breed-specific standard styles
- Detangling and removing matted hair
- Drying the coat
- Trimming nails
- Cleaning ears
- Brushing teeth
- Accommodating any special requests from the owner
Part Time-Flexible Schedule
$20 per hour

TRANSPORT DRIVER
COMBINE YOUR PASSION WITH A PURPOSE in our Transport Department
Our Transport Department is committed to providing our animals with an Excellent Experience Every Time. As a member of this team, you will transport animals from off-site adoption locations in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina to our East Smithfield PA shelter. We also run weekly local transports.
Each pet’s story is unique, but they all deserve a safe and comfortable ride to safety. Remember your goal is to ensure that animals are kept in safe and humane conditions while being transported.
Your work will help find our adoptable animals their new forever homes.

WORK LIFE BALANCE
Your schedule will 1 day per week for 8 hours and 2 4 -days per month for an overnight long-distance transport
A DAY IN THE LIFE As a Transport Driver may include:
Safely and thoughtfully handle, load, and transport dogs, cats from a pickup point to our location
- Provide additional assistance to shelter personnel as needed, including but not limited to unloading the transported animals.
- Drive safely and ensure that animals are kept in safe and humane conditions while being transported.

CARE GIVER TEAM MEMBER
Animal Care Sanctuary is seeking a positive individual who is committed to making an impact in the lives of animals. Caregivers are at the heart of our business and are responsible for the overall care of resident animals at ACS which includes cleaning, feeding and enrichment activities.
Job Responsibilities:
Daily cleaning of animal runs/communal, yards, and facility Feeding
Daily exercise of dogs and cats
Observe dogs’ and cats’ appearance and activity daily to monitor the animal’s physical condition and mental well being
Assist visitors and volunteers with general information when needed.
Present a professional, friendly, and helpful attitude when interacting with the public.
Show animals for visitors and provide information
Physical Requirements:
Experience welcome but not necessary as we will train you!
High school education or equivalent.
Animal handling experience preferred.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Veterinary Technician
Animal Care Sanctuary is seeking a full-time licensed veterinarian technician to work at our East Smithfield, PA location. This position includes working in our Community Clinic that provides public spay/neuter/wellness services, as well as providing medical and surgical care to our shelter animals.
The Vet- Tech should be a positive individual who is committed to making an impact in the lives of animals
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during spay/neuter surgeries including surgery prep, anesthesia and post-op monitoring as well as assisting during wellness exams.
- Collect samples and perform laboratory tests including 4DX, FeLV/FIV, cytology, UA, fecal floats, etc.
- Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Keep medical record documentation using Hippo Manager and Shelterluv software
- Communicate with clients, shelter staff, and adopters regarding routine health care information
- Perform typical cleaning duties including cleaning, wrapping, and sterilizing surgical instruments, cage cleaning, sweeping, mopping, etc.
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of PA
- Experience working in a vet clinic or shelter environment preferred but not necessary

ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN
Associate Veterinarian
Come advance career while enjoying a scenic commute in the rural hillsides of the Endless Mountains and assisting one of the oldest and largest no-kill animal shelters in the nation! Animal Care Sanctuary is currently seeking a director of veterinary services to work full-time in East Smithfield. This position includes working in our Community Clinic that provides public spay/neuter/wellness services, as well as providing medical and surgical care to our shelter animals. Founded in 1967, Animal Care Sanctuary is one of the oldest and largest no-kill sanctuaries for companion animals in the nation.
Located in East Smithfield, Pennsylvania, we have over 200 acres and, on any given day, 200+ dogs and cats are in residence. In 2021 alone we adopted 964 animals and our vet team performed4031 spay/neuter surgeries and conducted 2,547 wellness visits for our community pets.
Job Description:
Animal Care Sanctuary is seeking a full-time veterinarian that is responsible for providing medical and surgical care of our shelter and community pet companions. Applicant must possess effective communication skills and be a team player.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform spays, neuters, and wellness exams of public and shelter pets
- Perform intake exams and prescribe treatments on shelter animals
- Communicate with clients, adopters, and staff regarding health concerns
- Medical record documentation using Hippo Manager and Shelterluv software
Education and Experience Requirements:
- PA veterinary license in good standing
- Experience with shelter medicine preferred, but not required
- Excellent salary and benefits, cost of living costs low. Temporary housing available.
