Get To Know Ashley
Uber was recently adopted after spending a year at ACS.
How long have you been a part of ACS? Why did you get involved?
“I have been with ACS for 6 years now and I have had many different jobs here! I worked as a caregiver in the kennel before working in the clinic as a vet tech. I then began working in adoption and foster and I currently am the Foster Coordinator and Cattery Care Manager I have always wanted to work in animal rescue while learning to be a vet tech in college. I have since stepped back from vet tech work to run the foster program and be more hands on with the shelter animals.”
Are you a dog person or a cat person?
“I am both. Both cats and dogs are great for companionship in different ways.”
“I love getting to learn and build the foster program to help better the lives of the animals in our care while spreading our mission in the community.””
Foster Coordinator and Cattery Care Manager
What’s your favorite part of your job?
“Getting to help not only our local community as well as other states in desperate need of rescue. I love getting to learn and build the foster program to help better the lives of the animals in our care while spreading our mission in the community.”
Tell us about your pets!
“All of my pets are rescues of course. I have one blind pit-bull, a 14 year old dachshund, and 2 sweet cats.”
Sponsor a pet! Tell us about your best friend at ACS and why he/she deserves to be adopted!
“Abigail the cat has been with us for about 3 years now. She is considered a Medicat because when she first came to us, she would get very sick. We have since learned that she really just doesn't like to live with so many other cats. We have moved her into unconventional housing in the cattery medical office where she can sunbathe in peace without other cats to bother her. Since moving up to her own little office, she has not been sick, she shows lots of affection to her caretakers, and is just looking for her furever home. As long as there is food, toys, and a cozy box to lay in, Abby Gabby is a very happy girl. She can absolutely coexist with another cat in the home as well as a dog. She may not snuggle with them, but she will snuggle with you instead.
What do you think ACS needs donated the most?
“Enrichment items to keep our animals happy and mentally healthy. Kongs, puzzles, toys, slow-feed bowls etc.”
